Cherry Valley

Map of ARDF Cherry Valley
North of Wynne, Arkansas, the Cherry Valley location in Cross County consists of a soybean-wheat-rice rotation across the Clements and Wood farms.  The 1,600 Clements farm utilizes conventional tillage and a ground-water irrigation source.  The 2,700 acre Wood farm practices conservation tillage and uses a combination of surface water and wells.

This location is designated as a Critical Groundwater Area of the L’Anguille Watershed.

There are two water quality sampling stations set up on a conventionally tilled rice field on the Clements farm.  On the Wood farm, two stations are set up on a conservation tilled soybean field.  The primary measuring devices on the Clements farm are open channel pipes, whereas the Wood farm utilizes weirs.
